August 4th City Council Recap

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is doing well and remaining safe and socially distanced! Please wear your masks!

Last night we had our Regular Voting Meeting, so let's get into the ReCap!

New Business:

A. Refinance of the City Hall Loan. This item was introduced at the work session, however, administration has not received the final documentation to present to Council. Hopefully, we can discuss this further at the Special Call Meeting on Thursday. In general terms the refinance would save the City money over the remaining life of the loan.

B. Bid Award for Tennis and Basketball Court Repairs was approved for Court Makers, Inc. in the amount of $89,500. Tennis and basketball courts and Medlock and basketball court at Leila Mason will be redone.

C. Agreement between NOVO Solutions and the City was approved to provide Storm Water System Management and Mapping Software. This will help the City stay within standards of the EPA requirements.

New Ordinances and Resolutions:

A. Ordinance 2020-09 to Amend Chapter 23 Signs was adopted. This amendment will reduce the maximum size of wall/facade signs from 40 square feet to 10% of the facade area. Additionally, set guidelines for awning signs.

B. First read and discussion of Ordinance 2020-10 To Establish Guidelines and Restrictions for Mobile and Temporary Food Establishments. The ordinance will establish necessary regulations to allow for food trucks within the City. The second read of the ordinance will be this Thursday.

C. Due to not having received the refinance documentation Resolution 2020-15 was not discussed, will be added to the special call meeting agenda for Thursday.
